A message for Dorothy, our parent coordinator:

New Families…Welcome!   

Watch for an E-mail from me and check back here for updates, especially later in the summer when we will announce any changes, registration for After-School Clubs, etc. The building is closed for construction, so there is nobody to answer the phones.  You can always reach me at dcantwell2@schools.nyc.gov  

For now, know to expect these things in August:  

• An email invitation to sign up for Bloomz, the communication app that the school and teachers use to communicate with families. The teacher will reach out to you at the end of August, using this tool, to inform you about first-day procedures and schedules. 
• School begins on Thursday, September 7, 2023. The Pre-Ks and 3Ks will have a staggered schedule for the first two days to help them ease into the full school day by meeting with smaller groups of children. We find that this gives the teacher more one-on-one time with each child and helps with those first-day anxieties.  

And for you…

On Thursday, September 7, and Friday, September 8, I will be hosting breakfasts for new families on Tar Beach, (the terrace between the first and second floors) to give you a chance to meet each other and get to know other, more seasoned parents.
