welcome sign in rainbow colors

updated August 5, 2020

Welcome New CWS families to this strange and challenging school year. We know you have questions (as do returning families) and we wish we had all the answers for you!

We are still waiting on the DOE, Mayor, and Governor to know what school will look like in September. We have been asked to develop plans including a hybrid model (with some in-person days combined with other days remote) This plan will be reviewed by the DOE, and approved or sent back for revisions. Families also can select a fully-virtual option. Please click here to view the draft reopening plan

To request fully remote learning for your child please fill out and submit this form by August 7, 2020. There will be opportunities to opt back in to live or hybrid learning during the school year, but we do not know those dates. Link to DOE survey to choose remote or blended learning for your child-

If your child shares a tech device we strongly suggest that you complete the following form. If your child is an incoming student (Kindergarten, pre K or other grades) and does not have access to a device, please apply now for a DOE device. Students who chose blended (partial remote learning) will need to bring a tech device to school and will receive instruction from the teachers. If your family has chosen all remote learning, each child should have a device.  Link to request a DOE iPad w/ data service-

You may need an OSIS number for your child to fill out the forms; if so, please reach out to Dorothy at dcantwell2@schools.nyc.gov

In mid to late August, you will receive an email with more information about your child’s teachers for the upcoming school year.

In the meantime, please enjoy this video to meet the faculty and staff at CWS! You can also view grade-specific curriculum videos here.

We look forward to meeting you!
