Dear Families,

I am happy to share that we’re making great progress on updates to the building. Since EVCS moved out in July, our third, fourth and fifth grade classes are moving to the fourth floor. We’ve also been able to knock down the wall in the movement room on the fourth floor to create a double room for indoor gym and yoga classes! Work has started on the second floor hydroponic lab, a collaboration with New York Sun Works. New flooring and a new sink have been installed and the lab equipment will be installed in the coming weeks. Two pictures of our exciting construction projects are attached.

I know you are eager for your child(ren)’s teacher assignments. While we had hoped to have these ready to share with you now, we do not have a finalized school budget yet. We do not know teacher assignments at this time and won’t until the mayor and chancellor provide us with an updated final budget. At this time, we are planning on sharing teacher assignments the week of August 29 via Bloomz. I will message you as soon as they are available. We are sorry for this delay and share your frustrations.

Information about afterschool clubs will be on the website the week of August 29. Clubs will begin on September 19. I will share more information when it is available.

I hope you enjoy these last few weeks of summer. I’ll be in touch as soon as possible with teacher placement information.
