As a reminder, there is no school on Monday, January 19.
Happy Friday! Last night’s Honoring the Dream celebration was fantastic! The students from Helen+Jessica’s, Kiara+Isy’s, Elyssa+Kimberly’s, Jeff’s, Shelby+Ally’s, Miriam+Lisa’s, Scott+Louise’s, and Carlos+Ava’s did a wonderful job with their skits and songs. They performed an encore performance at this morning’s community meeting for the other classes. This is one of the most special community events at CWS, and I am so proud of our students and teachers. We were also happy to be joined by Gary, the CWS art teacher who retired years ago, and I want to thank Jean for bringing back the tradition of the all-school song as a finale to the night.
Part two of Honoring the Dream will be next Thursday, January 22 at 5:30pm with the following classes performing: Alice+Charlotte, Suma+Andrea, Jess M., Susan+Jeanette, Davon, Molly+Crystal, Taylor+Caroline, and Chairin.
Next week is predicted to bring frigid temperatures. We will follow the DOE guidance on inclement weather and continue to take students outside when it is safe to do so. Please ensure your child is dressed in layers and has appropriate warm clothing to be outside.
Please check the lost and found – it is overflowing with jackets, gloves, hats, water bottles, lunchboxes, and more!
