Dear Families,
Happy new year! We started off 2026 with a busy week at CWS. A big thank you to Susan and Jeanette’s class for hosting community meeting this morning, and to the PTA for the return of Coffee And… before school this morning. The world has been heavy this week, and we are continuing to put the well-being of our students and families at the center of all we do. Please reach out to your child’s teacher, Jennifer our guidance counselor, or myself, if your child needs extra support.
Beginning next week, CWS host its two-week all-school celebration honoring the life and values of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. whose ideals Jean and I used to found CWS 32 years ago! On Thursday, January 15 and 22 at 5:30 pm we will host our annual MLK “Honoring the Dream” Celebration. This will happen over two evenings in the CWS auditorium. Classes will sing songs and perform skits that honor the memory of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Students and teachers are working hard to practice their pieces, and we appreciate your support!
Each evening’s performance will last approximately 60-75 minutes. Students will sit with their classes throughout the performance, and we ask that you and your child remain for the entire time. There will be seating in the back of the auditorium available for families. The schedule of performances is:
We are continuing to see flu, stomach bugs, COVID, and other illnesses in students. As a reminder, students must be fever-free for 24 full hours without the use of medication before returning to school. Students are also welcome to wear masks if experiencing symptoms and/or if they are concerned about becoming sick.
Upcoming Dates:
Have a great weekend!
Warmly,
Maria
