Reminder: Next Friday, November 21 is a PROSE half-day for our students, with pickup at 11:30am and no afterschool clubs.
This week we continued to celebrate community and those who have changed the world to make it a better place. This morning our 3K through 5th grade students marched together for the Ruby Bridges Walk and were joined in song by many families. A few of our 5th grade students passionately spoke about Ruby Bridges, removing barriers, and the importance of educational equity. Democratic District Leader Marquis Jenkins also addressed our students in the schoolyard before the walk. Thanks to the caregivers who helped plan this event, and also the NYPD for walking us there and back and helping keep our students safe on the journey.
The PTA also held its first Cookie Walk fundraiser this morning which was a big success, congratulations and thank you! Jeff’s class harvested lettuce from the hydroponics lab and Susan’s class will harvest next week.
The lost and found is overflowing! Please come to the second floor outside the hydroponics room to check for lost lunchboxes, sweaters, water bottles, jackets, and more. Unclaimed lost and found items will be donated during Thanksgiving break. Please also take this time to label your child’s jackets, sweaters, and water bottles.
