Dear Families,

This week we continued to celebrate community and those who have changed the world to make it a better place. On Thursday, our K through 5th grade students marched together for the Ruby Bridges Walk and were joined in song by Assembly Member Harvey Epstein, Rev. Dr. Jacqui Lewis, former CWS art teacher Gary Morston, Third Street Music School drumming teacher Amos Gabia, and the Civics for All team. Four of our 5th grade students passionately spoke about Ruby Bridges, removing barriers, and the importance of educational equity. Thanks to the caregiver committee who helped plan this event.

This morning at community meeting Shelby & Ally’s and Davon’s classes did a great job leading us in song! This week also marked the first harvest of the year for the hydroponics lab, and students will be able to enjoy the harvest in school. We also had picture day and lice checks this week. And next week yoga starts for all students PreK-5th grade! November is a busy month for our CWS community.

The lost & found is located in the second floor hallway outside of the hydroponics lab. It is overflowing with lost coats, jackets, sweaters, water bottles, and more. Please come to check the lost & found area by Thanksgiving break – items not claimed will be donated to charity. Also, please take a moment to label your child’s jacket and other items to ensure lost items are more easily identified.
