Dear Families,

This was our last full week before the holiday break next week. Next week will be a short one, but there is still lots of learning that will happen! On Wednesday, November 22 dismissal will be at 11:30am for all students, lunch will be served before dismissal, and there will be no afterschool clubs. There is no school on Thursday, November 23 and Friday, November 24.

Please note that the school doors will be locked everyday from 1:00-1:30pm while our school safety agent has their break.

We had multiple confirmed cases of COVID in the building this week. Please continue to monitor your child and test them twice over 24 hours if they exhibit any COVID symptoms. The DOE no longer sends out exposure notifications to affected classes, so you should review your child’s health everyday before sending them to school.

We have also had multiple cases of lice in the building this week across grades. We only do all-school lice checks a few times a year, and the DOE asks parents and guardians to regularly check their child for lice. Please check your child for lice this weekend. If you find live bugs or nits, your child must be treated. The DOE has a no-lice policy and students cannot attend school until they are lice-free. Please reach out to me if you have any questions. Here is a flyer from the CDC on how to examine for head lice in English and in Spanish.

Enjoy your weekend!

Warmly,
Maria
