Happy Friday and Happy December! Today was a wonderful day as our students, teachers, staff, parents, and friends marched to Tompkins Square Park to commemorate World AIDS Day, a tradition our school has honored since it was founded 30 years ago.
Today I have a technology-heavy update, and ask you to please read through this and complete the critical survey regarding your child’s access to a device if there were ever to be a school closure.
Regarding Technology Access At Home:
All families must complete one technology survey for each child at CWS using this link . Please complete this no online survey later than next Tuesday, December 5.
Google Classroom – all of our teachers have setup their Google Classrooms, a requirement from the Department of Education, in case of school closure (such as a snow day).
Mark your calendars:
As a reminder, the school doors are locked from 1-1:30pm daily during the school safety agent’s break.
I hope you will join us next Friday for the PTA’s Holiday Bazaar. This will be setup in the lobby from 7:30am-4:00pm and you can shop for fun holiday gifts as well as purchase breakfast, lunch (for adults only), and snacks at the All Day Café. This is a great fundraiser and community event and I hope to see you there. For details please contact Pritsana at firstname.lastname@example.org
Wishing you a wonderful weekend.
New York City Public Schools (NYCPS) are dedicated to ensuring that every student can learn uninterrupted, including during disruptions caused by building closures. To accomplish this goal, we want to make sure that our students and staff are prepared for successful remote learning. NYCPS has developed a practice plan to support and improve schools’ readiness in the event a transition to remote learning is necessary. CWS has been selected to participate in the first round of tech readiness activities on December 5, 2023.
What does that mean for your child?
