Happy Friday! Congratulations to all of our students who had writing celebrations this week, with more to come next week. Writing celebrations are a wonderful CWS celebration that allows families a chance to come into school to see their child’s progress as a writer.
We have rapid COVID-19 test kits available to students who would like a box. If you would like a test kit to keep on hand at home for future use, please let your teacher know and they will send one home in your child’s backpack.
A special thank you to all the families who have supported the Dawod family, wonderful long-term members of our school community who had to vacate their apartment with no notice. Fellow CWS parents have organized a press conference and started a GoFundMe for them. CWS families are truly the best!
Honoring the Dream: I encourage you to mark your calendars for our annual MLK “Honors the Dream” Celebration. This will happen over two evenings this year in the CWS auditorium. Classes will sing songs and act out skits that honor the memory of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Teachers will be sending more details home as they are confirmed.
Other dates to note:
Monday, December 25 – Monday, January 1 – No School (School resumes Tuesday, January 2)
The building continues to be locked from 1-1:30 pm during the school safety agent’s break.
Next week is a full week and I look forward to seeing you Monday through Friday. Have a great weekend!
