I hope you enjoyed the break. This morning we were treated to a performance by our youngest community members – the 3K students performed at community meeting! 2nd grader Gene also played Let it Be on the piano. This week our first through fifth graders had their first cooking demonstration with Wellness in the Schools and made simple tomato sauce.
This week started off with a successful school walk to Tompkins Square Park to commemorate World AIDS Day with songs and speeches. Our K-5 students went to Barnes & Noble in Union Square for the book fair. Anyone who wishes to participate in store or online by buying books from Barnes and Noble through December 7 using code 12918090 at checkout; the PTA receives a portion of the proceeds using this code. This Sunday, December 7 you can join us at Barnes & Noble in Union Square for a book reading with special guests!
Next Friday, December 12 the PTA will host the Holiday Bazaar & All Day Cafe where you will be able to buy special items from local merchants. This is a wonderful community fundraiser and I hope you will stop by.
It’s cold outside! Our students will still go outside to run and play in the cold, so please ensure your student dresses in layers and wears a warm coat when needed. Please label their coats, sweaters, hats, and gloves with their names! If you’re in need of winter items, please let your teacher, Dorothy, Joyce, or me know.
