Happy Friday, and happy last day of February! Thanks to Miriam’s fourth grade class for hosting community meeting this morning and leading us in song. Our first, second, and some third graders went ice skating today – this is a wonderful community building event, and thanks to Jean for coordinating. The remaining third, fourth, and fifth grade students will skate next Friday. Optional afterschool test prep also began this week for third, fourth, and fifth grade students.
Next Thursday, March 6 is a half-day with 11:30am pickup for all students. Lunch will be served before dismissal, and there are no afterschool clubs. Family conferences are an important part of our curriculum. Your child should join this conference with you, it is an important way for your child to share their work, progress, and goals with you. Please look for a notice from your child’s teacher and sign up for a meeting time.
Last night was the opening of the CWS Art Show to support the fourth grade farm trip. The gallery is open to visit for free (with art available for purchase) on: March 4 from 8:15-9:am and 4:15-5pm, March 5 from 8:15-9am, March 6 from 4:15-5pm, March 11 from 8:15-9am, and March 14 from 4:15-5pm. The gallery is located right around the corner from CWS at 212 Avenue B.
Please take a few minutes to share your thoughts on CWS on the annual school survey. A form went home that you can mail in the prepaid envelope, or you can take it online between now through April 4 through this link. Your access code is a lowercase “f” followed by your child’s nine-digit OSIS number.
