Dear Families,

Happy March! This week has been very busy and full of activity. A big highlight: the schoolyard is finally open for us to use!! Thanks to Miriam’s third graders who organized a protest with a petition to present to the DOE and the Department of Buildings. Upon hearing of the proposed event along with media coverage, both departments took immediate action and built the required fence to ensure the safety of the yard. Activism is alive and well at CWS! Please note: dropoff and pickup will now be in the schoolyard!

Our drummers performed at 3rd St Music School and continued their drumming at a special schoolwide presentation yesterday. Thank you to our drumming teacher Amos! And this morning Molly and Ava’s class shared a CWS version of “I Don’t Want to Grow Up” from Peter Pan. Bravo!

Progress reports have gone home and we will begin family conferences next week. Your child should join this conference with you, it is an important way for your child to share their work, progress, and goals with you. Please look for a notice from your child’s teacher and sign up for a meeting time.
