Dear Families,

Please remember that Monday, March 18 is a half-day with 11:30am pickup for all students, and there are no clubs.

This was another great week at CWS! This morning four of our fifth grade students (Khalil Alleyne, Soren Brooker, Savita Milliman, and Alina Usmanova) shared their Civics for All soapbox persuasive speeches with the school at community meeting, well done! The third graders attended the bilingual Latin American show Música at the New Victory Theater, and our kindergarteners attended a ballet performance of the Velveteen Rabbit thanks to Third Street Music School.

This weekend I will join our 3K and PreK teachers to kick-off the CWS book fair at Barnes and Noble. We will offer read-alouds from 11am to noon and then at noon we will be joined by author Colter Jackson who will read from her books The Rhinoceros Suit and Everyday Brave. All students and their families are welcome to attend! Then next week during the school day grades K through 5 will visit Barnes and Noble to be able to each get a book of their own. If you choose to purchase books at another time either in store or online, please use the code 12722922T and a portion of the sale will be donated to CWS.

Mark your calendars:
