Dear Families,

This was another powerful week of community at CWS. Our students were featured in a NY1 piece about their activism in reopening the schoolyard. Our two fifth grade District 1 student government representatives went to a district meeting this week and shared their experiences as community activists. And then this morning at community meeting two students asked to present about their own community’s traditions, Ramadan, which starts this weekend. Thank you for such a thoughtful and engaging share this morning. Our students have been so thoughtful in sharing their families’ traditions with us over the past school year and we are so grateful for our students to learn directly from one another.

This week was also special because of family conferences! These are a wonderful chance to engage directly with your child’s teacher(s) and hear directly from your child about what they have been working on and their goals for the next three months. If you have not yet had to your child’s spring family conference, please contact their teacher as soon as possible to schedule it.
