Dear Families,

Happy Friday! It was wonderful to share the eclipse with our students on Monday. Today we were treated to a performance at community meeting by our youngest students – Helen’s 3K class. What a treat! Our third, fourth, and fifth graders also did a great job taking their English Language Art state tests, and makeup testing will continue next week. The math test is in May.

Next Wednesday, April 17 is the 30th anniversary of Schoolapalooza, an adult-only fundraising and community event from 6-10pm at school. We’ll have a live auction, silent auction, and music from Lisa Lisa! This is an event for ages 21+, and I hope you’ll join us to celebrate 30 years of CWS. You can purchase tickets and bid on silent auction items

There will be afterschool clubs next Wednesday, April 17 however there will be no aftercare available due to Schoolapalooza. All club students must be picked up at 4:45pm on Wednesday, April 17.

A few other reminders:

  • Please check the lost and found in the lobby. All items will be donated at the end of next week.
  • Regular attendance is important for your child to learn and thrive. Please email Joyce at jborden@schools.nyc.gov if your child will be absent due to illness.

Mark your calendars:

  • Wednesday, April 17 – 30Palooza – adult-only evening celebration from 6-10pm
  • Monday, April 22-Tuesday, April 30 – No School (Spring Break/Passover)

Only one week left until spring break, let’s make it a great one!

Warmly,
Maria
