Dear Families,

As a reminder, there is no school tomorrow Friday, April 21 in honor of Eid al-Fitr. School will reopen on Monday, April 24.

Congratulations to our third, fourth, and fifth grade students for completing the English Language Arts state testing this week. You worked so hard and we are proud of you! These next 9 weeks until the end of the school year will be busy but wonderful with writing celebrations, field trips, student projects, and more. I encourage you to ensure your child continues to come to school each day ready to learn and grow with their classmates.

I hope you will join us for the PTA’s annual fundraiser Schoolapalooza on Saturday, April 29 from 7-11pm. This is an adults-only event (no childcare is available) and will be a great opportunity to come together in community with other CWS parents, guardians, teachers, and staff. Tickets can be purchased in advance. If you would like to attend but the ticket price is a challenge for your family, please reach out to Joyce in the office. There are some complimentary tickets available.

As a reminder, the CWS food pantry will be open on Tuesday, April 25 from 8-9am, 2:30-3pm, and 4:30-4:45pm for our entire school community. Please email cws.bloomz@gmail.com to schedule a time to visit the clothing pantry, as it will be open upon request. *Please note the only donations we are currently accepting are sneakers – kids and adults.*

Next week we will have licensed technicians visit our school for our biannual lice checks. These technicians have been with our school the past few years, are also professional hair stylists, and will ensure a safe, culturally competent, and warm experience for your child during this brief check. No news is good news! If your child is found to have lice and/or nits we will be in touch with next steps following the DOE’s “No Lice Policy”.

Warmly,
Maria
