Dear Families,

This was a beautiful week for weather, learning, and field trips. Thank you to Carlos and Ava’s class for their community meeting skit of The Great Kapok Tree this morning. 

I am excited to invite you to our CWS Transitions Open House next Thursday, May 1 at 5pm. This evening is for current 3k through 4th grade families (children are welcome to attend!). We will start at 5pm with a brief presentation in the auditorium before moving to classrooms. Your family will be able to spend time in the classrooms of their child’s grade in the fall and hear from their future teachers. The library and hydroponics lab will be open for touring after the classroom sessions and Jessica Bobbins will be in the lobby for any of your tech help needs.

We are working to finalize the date for our all-school picnic and fun run in June. Once the permits are finalized I will share that information with you. Please mark your calendars for these other dates:

• Thursday, May 1: Transitions Open House for current 3k-4th grade families, 5-7pm
• Saturday, May 17: Arts & Science Fair
• Friday, May 23: Half-Day 11:30 pickup for all students (Prose Professional Development)
• Monday, May 26: No School (Memorial Day)
• Thursday, June 5 – Friday, June 6: No School (Anniversary Day/Clerical Day)
• Monday, June 9: Half-Day 11:30 pickup for all students (Prose Professional Development)
• Thursday, June 19: No School (Juneteenth)
• Wednesday, June 25: Fifth Grade Moving Up Ceremony for fifth grade families
• Thursday, June 26: Last Day of School!
