Dear Families,

Happy Friday! This was a busy and great week. I am also happy to report that the technicians did not find any lice during our biannual check this week.

Congratulations to the 12 CWS students who read their own poems at the 4-School Poetry Slam on Wednesday at La Plaza Cultural garden. Students worked hard to write their poems, under the expert guidance of our own poet Parent Coordinator Dorothy Cantwell, and did a wonderful job sharing them at the event.

As a reminder, please check the Lost and Found box in the lobby for anything your child may have lost while at school. All items not claimed by next Friday, May 5 will be donated to charity.

I hope to see you tomorrow night at the PTA’s fundraiser Schoolapalooza, which will be held at CWS from 7-11pm. This is an adults-only event (no childcare is available) and will be a great opportunity to come together in community with other CWS parents, guardians, teachers, and staff. You can bid on auction items (the auction closes the night of Sunday, April 30) and buy tickets here or at the door: Schoolapalooza If you would like to attend but the ticket price is a challenge for your family, please reach out to Joyce in the office. There are a number of complimentary tickets available.

However you choose to spend your weekend, I hope it is restful and joyful.

Warmly,
Maria
