Dear Families,

Happy Friday! Thank you to our PreK students who lead community meeting this morning with “Kindergarten Here We Come” and “One Love.” And congrats to our fifth grade students to completing their math and science state tests!

As a reminder, next Friday, May 24 is a half-day with 11:30am pickup for all students and there will be no afterschool clubs. There is no school on Monday, May 27 for Memorial Day.

This was our first week with the DOE’s required Safer Access Door Locking System. Thank you to all of our community members for helping us learn this new system. As a reminder, once the school day begins at 8:30 am each day, all school doors including the lobby doors will remain locked at all times. To enter the school building, you will need to ring the video intercom system to the left side of the red doors. You will need to face the camera and identify yourself. You will enter via the door with the big yellow sign on it. After entering the building, you will need to sign in with your photo ID at the school safety desk in the lobby. *The school safety agent is on break from 1-2pm daily, and access to the building will be limited during this time. You may try calling the school main office at 212-614-9531 if no one answers the video buzzer, but there may be a delay. If you need to pick up your child before the end of the school day, please plan to arrive before 1pm or after 2pm.

On May 31 at 8:45am the PTA will hold elections for PTA officers (President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary) and School Leadership Team (SLT) members. More information about these positions will be going home in backpacks on Monday. You can reach out to the nominating committee members listed on the info sheet if you have questions about any of the positions.

Mark your calendars:
