Dear Families,

Welcome back! It was a short but great week. Thanks to Jeff’s class for performing at community meeting today, and it was great to see some of our current 5th grade students as well as 6th grade alumni join them on stage!

We need a t-shirt size for every student by tomorrow, Saturday, May 4. All students will receive a FREE CWS shirt. Please fill out the form on Bloomz for your child’s size. If we do not receive your student’s size by tomorrow, we will pick a size for them.

I hope all parents/guardians will join us on the evening of Thursday, May 9. We will host a Transitions open house for parents and guardians with returning students who are currently in 3K through fourth grade to learn more about what the next grade at CWS looks like. More details to follow next week.

Also for your calendars – we will combine the all-school picnic and fun run to be held at the East River Park on Tuesday, June 18! Be on the lookout for additional information in the coming weeks.

Starting soon, our school building will be implementing the updated DOE’s school safety plans. This includes all school doors being locked at all times and needing to buzz in to the school via a video buzzer system. I will be in touch with more details and the start date for this transition.

Mark your calendars:

  • Thursday, May 9 – Transitions evening presentation for adults
  • Friday, May 24 – half-day 11:30am pickup for all students, no clubs (staff development)
  • Monday, May 27 – no school (Memorial Day)

Have a great weekend!
