Dear Families,

Happy Friday! What a great first full week of school. A big thank you to all our families, teachers, and staff who came last night for the CWS Fiesta! We had an incredible turnout of over 220 people who came together in the spirit of community. We look forward to more community building events throughout this year.

Next Tuesday, September 20 we will open our school doors to adults for Curriculum NightPreK through 2nd grade will be from 5:30-6:15pm and 3rd grade through 5th grade will be from 6:30-7:15pmThis is an adults-only evening. There will be childcare available in the yard only for current CWS students (we cannot watch siblings who do not currently attend CWS) and only for the time block that you will be attending curriculum night and are in the school building. Food is not provided, however your child may bring their own snacks and water bottle.

Curriculum night is an important evening where your child’s teacher(s) will explain their goals and expectations for the school year, so please attend. There will not be a virtual option for curriculum night.

Health and safety reminder: if your child is out sick with a cold or similar ailment, they need to receive a negative covid test before returning to school.

Children’s bikes and scooters: Bikes and scooters cannot be left in the lobby or outside the school doors. Your child may place their bike or scooter in the back of the yard inside the black gate, however the school is not responsible for any missing or lost items. If you choose to have your child leave their bike/scooter in this area it is at your own risk.

Community meeting was fun this morning with Taylor and Kiara’s class and Suma and Andrea’s class leading us in song.

Warmly,

Maria
