Dear Families,
Happy Friday! And Happy First Day of October!
It was wonderful seeing so many of you around the fence for our second Community Meeting this morning! The teachers and staff introduced themselves to our entire school community at the meeting. Thanks to Jess & Tiffany’s 4th graders for providing the great drumming. Below is a video of today’s community meeting for you to enjoy at home!
Thank you for your support as we have adapted to our new drop-off and pick-up routines. With the official closure of E 12th Street between Avenues B and C through the NYC Open Streets program, I’m happy to share that our drop-off and pick-up routines are happening safely and respectfully.
As a reminder of DOE policy, if your child is absent for even a day with illness and any one symptom that could be COVID (fatigue, fever, cough, sneezing, vomiting, etc.) they must receive a negative COVID test before they can return to school. Also, children must be fever free for 24 hours without the use of medication before they can return to school, even if they receive a negative COVID test. We want to avoid as many colds and flus for our students as possible. Thank you for helping us keep our school community healthy.
All children and adults entering the building must complete a DOE health screening form everyday online or a paper copy.
In line with DOE requirements, visitors to the building (including adults and children 12+) must be vaccinated against COVID-19 to enter the building. You will be required to provide proof of vaccination to the school safety agent. More on the DOE building visitor policy and acceptable proofs of vaccination is here.
If you haven’t already please submit consent for in-school COVID testing (grades 1-5) via the website or a paper form from your teacher.
