December 10, 2021

Dear Families,

Happy Friday! Special thanks to Shelby’s fourth grade class who led drumming at community meeting this morning. You can watch the video here.

As a reminder this Monday, December 13 is a half-day with 12pm noon pickup for all students due to PROSE teacher professional development. There will not be any CWS afterschool clubs on Monday.

Thank you to our PTA for this morning’s successful Holiday Bazaar pop-up table. Their great items will also be available at the Holiday Bazaar pop-up table during Monday’s half-day pickup from 12-1pm on the sidewalk. It’s not too late to purchase from local merchants via the Holiday Bazaar website here, and 10% of purchases will be donated by vendors to the PTA via the website here.

I am excited to share that a modified version of our annual MLK’s Honoring the Dream celebration will take place in January. To account for COVID-restrictions, we will offer mini performances in our school auditorium. Two classes will work together for a short performance on various Friday mornings beginning in January. Two adults maximum per each student in the classes performing that morning will be able to attend in the auditorium. Per DOE regulations, only fully vaccinated adults may enter the school building and attend their child’s in-person performance. For those who are unable to show proof of COVID vaccination or who cannot otherwise attend in person, a live stream via zoom will be offered. Your child’s teacher will be in touch shortly with their class’ performance date and time. I just wanted to let you know to look out for this information, as we are excited to bring our school tradition back in 2022, even if it’s in a different format.

 Warmly,
 Maria
