It was great to welcome back our students after spring recess. Congratulations to our third, fourth, and fifth graders for completing the state math test this week! And a special thank you to Helen & Ileana’s PreK class for their performance of The Very Hungry Caterpillar at Community Meeting this morning! You can watch the video here.
Please remember that there is no school on Monday, May 2 for Eid al-Fitr. School will reopen on Tuesday, May 3.
As you many have seen from the situation room emails, we have had a lot of new COVID cases this week. Affected families are notified via Bloomz as soon as we become aware of the exposures. I urge to you to please COVID test as required when your child has been exposed either in or out of school – we have found many cases from this testing. If your child feels unwell and misses a day of school, they must receive a negative COVID test when before they return as well as wear a mask for 10 days from the beginning of their symptoms. We will provide masks for students who are required to wear them but do not bring one to school. We are trying to keep everyone as healthy as possible, so we appreciate your assistance in testing your child and not sending them to school will ill.
We have 8 weeks remaining of this school year and lots of fantastic things planned! Included in this are some great upcoming events sponsored by our wonderful PTA:
Saturday, May 7: Annual CWS Arts & Science Fair from 11:00am-3:00pm in the schoolyard for CWS current families and alumni. This event will include: fascinating science experiments, hands-on STEM activities, fun art projects, slime making, and delicious food and beverages! Children must be accompanied by an adult; activity tickets available at the door.
Friday, May 13: CWS Inaugural Fun Run! The entire school will participate in this fun health and wellness event. Donations greatly appreciated.
Saturday, June 4: Schoolapalooza evening event for adults only. More details coming soon!
Wishing you a happy and healthy weekend.
