As 2020 draws to a close, I want to thank you for being part of our CWS family. This year has not been without great struggle, sacrifice, and loss, but through it all we have also seen the best come out in our community.
Our teachers have worked tirelessly to adapt to this temporary but critical new way of teaching. They’ve found ways to engage children through the screen and bring learning to them at home as well as in the classroom with new safety protocols. Our parents and guardians have worked to learn new technology and help their children manage assignments as they haven’t needed to before, to say nothing of keeping up with the daily rotating schedules of our hybrid model. Our children have adapted in ways we could only dream of. I’ve seen them in the school building and on zooms laughing, chatting, questioning, and learning.
While remote schooling and this rotating in-person model is not any of our first choices, the resilience, patience, and dedication I have seen from students, teachers, staff, parents and guardians is remarkable. I hope we’ll close the chapter on 2020 with the hope of what is to come in 2021.
Wishing you peace, health, and happiness in these last few days of a very hard year.
